HAVANA and C.O.A. Beech Hill Farm
Share The Harvest FARM DINNER
Havana restaurant and College of the Atlantic (COA) partnered to host a four-course Farm Dinner at the college’s Beech Hill Farm to benefit "Share the Harvest", a COA student-led food access program for low-income island families. We would like to thank everyone involved that helped make this event such a great success over the years and look forward to continuing this tradition.
This event brings to life and puts a unique twist on the phrase "From farm to table," by bringing the tables, staff, and wine to the farm.

Share the Harvest's mission is to ensure that fresh, organic, and local produce be more accessible to low-income members of the Mount Desert Island community.
Share the Harvest serves as a liaison between low-income residents and local food, ensuring access to the space, knowledge, and resources that it takes to sustain an equitable food system. Working closely with island food pantries and other organizations dedicated to eradicating food insecurity, this program provides low-income community members with fresh, organic, and local produce in the form of Farmstand Vouchers, Bar Harbor Farmers Market Vouchers, and Harvest Deliveries. Share The Harvest is a collaboration between College of the Atlantic students and farmers at Beech Hill Farm and the Bar Harbor Community Farm. Collectively, they are committed to cultivating a community that is healthy and dignified. Share the Harvest is funded by the community in the form of grants, small fundraisers, sales of merchandise, and an annual dinner with local restaurant Havana. Share the Harvest's goal is to fill critical gaps in food access on MDI and generate conversations and actions to address the root causes of food insecurity. Through promoting engagement with local farmland and seeking to foster a more just and equitable food system on Mount Desert Island, Share the Harvest plays an important role in improving the health and wellness of the community.
